AUDIO GUIDE
In collaboration with another designer & friend, Mary-Jo, we created and audio guide to go along with an exhibition of student design work. It consisted of a recording of the designers each talking about a piece of their work in the exhibition. We edited the interviews and made them available to gallery visitors by putting the recordings on an ipod as tracks. I designed the track list as a map that corresponded to the layout of the room. In the context of the room situation, this layout was immediately understood by the participants.
Arranging the tracks as a birds-eye map of the gallery space, cut out the need to place corresponding numbers; an additional label on the wall next to the art work. This was a quick way for the reader to comprehend the layout without the extra step of referencing a numbering system and finding its location on the wall. (8.5 x 11 inch paper to be folded in half)
